How to take care of Jewelry

Jewelry Care & Maintenance

Metal Maintenance

  • Metal accessories are mostly 14K Gold filled from U.S. or 925 sterling silver, 14K GF is the best material on the market so far, not allergic to non-tarnish, but will oxidize (including sterling silver)  The oxidation layer can be gently wiped off with jewelry cleaning cloth or toothpaste.
In general wiping with silver cleaning cloth can restore the luster of accessories. If it is not extreme cases, please DO NOT use silver washing liquid or cream products, these products are corrosive, it will oxidize and turn yellow more easily after using them and also will accelerate the tarnish of 18K gold plated accessories.
    • Large amount of sweat will erode silver product, so it is best to wash them with water after wearing in summer and please DO NOT to wear them to the beach. Dry the water and dirt on the surface with a soft cloth or paper, then put it in a dust bag.
    • Please take off your jewelry when you sleep so that it does not get tangled with your hair or get crushed and deformed.

    Pearl care & maintenance:

High quality pearls are very durable, but proper care is necessary to keep your pearl jewelry beautiful and lustrous.

    • Wear them at least semi-often. Because pearls were originally born in the water and benefit immensely from absorbing the oils that your skin naturally secretes.
Do NOT store pearls in an airtight package such as a plastic bag: remember, pearls need moisture. If the environment is too dry, the pearls may crack. If placing the pearls in a safety deposit box or in a hot environment, leave a damp cloth nearby, and try to get them out of there as quickly as you can.
      • DO NOT submerge your pearls in water for a long time, as the water could reduce the lust and also tends to make the surface looks dull.
      • Keep pearls away from chlorine bleach, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, ammonia, hairspray, perfume, and cosmetics, make sure to put the pearls on after finished spraying perfume or hairspray and putting on makeup, as these chemical substances will damage the pearl surface.

Remove pearls before exercising to keep them away from perspiration.
      • After wearing your jewelry (especially in summer) Gently wipe pearls with a soft cloth to remove sweat, perfume, excess oils or dirt with the jewelry cleaning cloth or other soft cloth given by the us and put it in the dust bag.
Pearls should be stored away from other objects or jewelry that may scratch their surfaces.
      • Restring pearls once every two to three years, or once a year if you wear them weekly (We offer this service at any time).
Be sure to have each pearl knotted separately, preferably with professional jewelry silk thread, so they do not rub together and wear on the pearl nacre. If pearls are very small, knots between each pearl may be undesirable.
